The 4-H Alberta Scholarship Application is currently unavailable.

You can register and complete your application starting March 1, 2023.

Thank you for your interest in 4-H Alberta Scholarships. The submission period is from March to May each year. If you have any questions regarding 4-H Alberta Scholarships, we are available to answer these all year long.

The 4-H Alberta Scholarship Application is now closed for 2022. You can register and complete your application starting March 1, 2023 for the 2023 scholarship cycle.

Please note that the scholarship application deadline is 12:00 pm, on Monday, May 02, 2022. You are encouraged to submit your application until that time; however, candidates will not be able to submit their applications past this deadline and applications received past 12:00 pm will not be considered.

If you are currently working on your scholarship application and plan to complete it by Monday, May 02, 2022, we are here to help:

  • Leading up to the deadline, if you experience technical issues or require clarification, you are encouraged to connect with with the Fund Development Team at 403-899-7030 or scholarship@4hab.com
  • Any calls/ emails/ voicemails received before 12:00 pm on Monday, May 02, 2022 will be reviewed and answered by the Fund Development Team on the same day
  • Any calls/ emails/ voicemails received after the 12:00 pm deadline on Monday, May 02, 2022 (i.e. 12:01 pm) will not be considered.
  • Date/ time recorded on emails and voicemails will help us determine if inquiries were received prior to the deadline.
  • Whichever channel of communication you prefer, please ensure you clearly state your question/ concern and where we can reach you best (i.e. phone number).

Before you start your scholarship application

Please know that the application process can take several hours and does not need to be completed at once. As the applicant, you can log in as many times as you wish to continue and complete the application before the deadline on May 02, 2022 at 12:00 pm.

Some scholarships will require the submission of additional information - please carefully check the specific *scholarship criteria for your region to confirm which of the following essays (if any) apply to you and if you are still eligible (you may only receive certain scholarships once):

Northwest Region:
  • Northwest 4-H Scholarship: Must complete a 500-750 word essay on the following subject: Write an essay on how you have fulfilled your commitment to the 4-H program and to yourself by following the 4-H Pledge and Motto. Essays outside of the length guidelines may not be considered. Must be an original essay each year that the applicant applies. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.
  • Northwest 4-H Safety Scholarship: Must complete a 500 to 750 word essay on a topic related to safety. Essays outside of the length guidelines may not be considered. Must be an original essay each year that the applicant applies. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.
Calgary Region:
  • Raintree Financial Solutions – Sheila Nielsen 4-H Scholarship (300 words): please outline how 4-H has lead you to where you are today.
Peace Region:
  • Valleyview District: applicant must submit a letter stating their involvement with the Valleyview District Council to the following address: Valleyview District Council, Box 1967, Valleyview, AB T0H 3N0
  • Peace Regional Scholarship: Please explain how you believe your experience in 4-H will assist you in pursuing your future academic/career/life goals. The essay needs to be a minimum of 500 words and a  maximum of 750 words.

Calgary Region:
  • Calgary Region: three (3) reference letters required: one (1) school reference, one (1) community reference, and one (1) 4-H reference. The letters can be sent together if coming from the applicant in one envelope, or each individual letter can be sent directly from the referee to: Calgary Regional 4-H Council, P.O. Box 10575, Stn. Main, Airdrie, AB, T4A 0H8
East Central Region:
  • Stettler 4-H District: two (2) reference letters required: one (1) from a 4-H volunteer and one (1) from an adult that has known the applicant for at least 2 years and is not a family member. Please send to: Stettler District Scholarship Selection Committee, Box 81 Gadsby, AB, T0C 1K0
West Central Region:
  • Camrose 4-H District: Applicants are required to submit a reference letter to the following address: (ie. General leader, key leader, assistant leader, project leader, or other 4-H parent, no relative references will be accepted.) Camrose District Scholarship Selection Committee, Box 264, Hay Lakes, AB, T0B 1W0

How to Use this Site

Register with the 4-H Alberta Scholarship system by completing this form. Once you've registered, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you.

Check your Inbox for your confirmation message and click on the confirmation link it contains. It may take a few minutes for the message to arrive, and remember to check your Junk Mail folder just in case!

Once you've confirmed return to this page and login.

You will be asked some simple eligibility questions. If you're eligible you will be presented with the complete online application form.

You can begin filling-in your application right away and you can return to this site anytime before the due date to continue editing your online application form.

Once you're finished, review your completed application and submit electronically any time before 12:00pm on May 02, 2022.

If any additional materials are required to be sent by mail you will be notified on the completion page.
